Grant R. Koster, PT, ATC, FACHE serves as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations at Athletico Physical Therapy. Athletico has over 420 outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinics in 11 states and in 2013 was voted the # 1 Workplace by the Chicago Tribune. Similarly, Athletico was named “Best Physical Therapy Practice of the Year” by Advanced Magazine in 2012. In 2015, Koster helped lead Athletico with the acquisition of over 230 clinics. Koster is also active on the Board of Directors for the non-for-profit Arthritis Foundation since 2008 and also serves as a medical adviser to Arthritis Today Magazine.
Koster is an alum of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management Executive Scholars Program with an emphasis in Leadership & Management. A current member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mr. Koster’s current interests and expertise are in healthcare leadership & management. In 2014, Koster earned Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), the nation’s foremost professional society for health care leaders. His strength based leadership management qualities are Ideation, Futuristic, Strategic, Arranger, and Maximizer.
Mr. Koster served as the head physical therapist and athletic trainer for the United States Rugby team from 2002-2004 and represented his country at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Locally, he served in a similar capacity with the Chicago Griffins Rugby Football Club from 2001-2006. In 2010, Koster worked on a special task force with NASA regarding shoulder pain with astronauts during underwater training missions while in their space suits. He assisted in developing orthopedic screening, treatment and preventative conditioning programs to reduce NASA astronaut’s risk of shoulder pathology.
Grant is married to Dr. Dana Russo, who is a board certified OB/GYN and Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG). They have two daughters, Mia Bella and Chloe and reside in Glenview, IL.
