As President of the IPTA, I look forward to REVITALIZE 2017 and having the opportunity to meet many of our members and future members. I am honored to hold this office and feel that the conference gives me a great opportunity to hear first-hand from our members. Do all consumers in Illinois really understand how physical therapy, when provided by licensed and qualified health care professionals, can restore movement and function, prevent disease and injury, and overall improve their quality of life? The IPTA’s Assembly of Representative presents the opportunity for members from all over the state to come together to discuss this and other issues impacting the physical therapy profession. All members of the IPTA can attend the Assembly, which takes place on Saturday afternoon during REVITALIZE.
As a member of IPTA and 2016 REVITALIZE attendee, I felt that last year’s conference was a great success. Looking at the schedule for 2017, I am happy to see that the educational programming has expanded and I am sure will have offerings for all. I always return from a conference with new ideas and approaches that I am excited to share with my staff. I am particularly interested in attending the programs relating to payment and policy. I think Cindy Krafft’s presentation, Reaching Across the Aisle: Care Redesign in Post Acute Care, is a definite “must attend” for private practice owners like me.
And, as a businessman, I see tremendous value in participating in the EXPO. The opportunity to network with soon to be grads as well as experienced practitioners is tremendous.
The dates are on my calendar and I look forward to heading to the Q Center in April – hope to see you there!
